Virtual Public Forum and Reddit “Ask Me Anything” on Medical Debt With CFPB Director Rohit Chopra

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Director Rohit Chopra hosted a virtual public forum about medical debt on Thursday, August 8, 2024. This forum was held on the WebEx platform and was open to all members of the public who register to attend.

During the forum, members of the public had the opportunity to share comments about their experiences with medical debt and feedback about actions the CFPB might take to address this issue. Director Chopra provided an update on recent CFPB work related to medical debt, including the agency’s proposed rule to ban medical bills on credit reports.

Director Chopra also participated in a Reddit "Ask Me Anything " (AMA) to discuss the CFPB’s proposed rule to ban medical bills on credit reports.
