Annual report of the CFPB Student Loan Ombudsman 2017

The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act established a student loan ombudsman within the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Pursuant to the Act, this annual report analyzes complaints submitted by consumers with student loans from Sept. 1, 2016, through Aug. 31, 2017. This report also highlights how individual consumer complaints can shape public policy and drive industry-wide reform.
