Republic Mortgage Insurance Company

On November 15th, 2013, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (Bureau) settled its claims against Republic Mortgage Insurance Corporation (RMIC) for allegedly paying illegal kickbacks to mortgage lenders in exchange for business. The Bureau filed a complaint and proposed final consent judgment and order against RMIC to stop these practices. The order, which the court entered on November 19, 2013, requires RMIC to pay a $100,000 penalty to the CFPB, and follows four similar actions announced in 2013.
