CFPB v. Green Tree Servicing, LLC
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) entered into a consent agreement with Green Tree Servicing, LLC.
The CFPB and FTC alleged that the defendant mistreated mortgage borrowers who were trying to save their homes from foreclosure. Green Tree Servicing, LLC failed to honor modifications for loans transferred from other servicers, demanded payments before providing loss mitigation options, delayed decisions on short sales, and harassed and threatened overdue borrowers.
Victim compensation
The CFPB contracted with Epiq Systems, Inc. to administer payments for this case. This matter is now closed.
